About Faculty of Transport Engineering

Transport is one of the most essential economic activity spheres in our country.

The contribution of transport and logistics activity to the national GDP constitutes 10 %.

There will always be a need for highly-qualified specialists in the field of transport, who could possibly assure the efficiency of the overall transport system. These specialists are prepared at the Faculty of Transport Engineering at VGTU.

Today there are 77 academic groups at the Faculty. The total number of students in these groups amounts to 1750.

There are 65 lectors who deliver lectures for students. This number also includes experienced industrial workers who have part-time job positions at the Faculty.

The studies at the Faculty are interesting and promising. The graduates of first and second degree study programmes of Transport Engineering and Transport Engineering Economics and Management take creative and well-paid job positions at different enterprises, institutions and organizations. These jobs are related to constantly developing techniques and technologies. The graduates of the University organize technical maintenance and repair of vehicles, cargo and public transportation, address different issues of logistics, perform maintenance inspection of vehicles, cranes and other high risk equipment, research, design and develop machineries, work in the fields of road safety and environmental protection.
